The ten acre property features an authentic Biergarten, shaded by a protective canopy of 60-year-old Siberian Elms, including a charming gazebo, large koi pond, and working water wheel. In addition, an outdoor pavilion has been enclosed to allow for a screened experience in the summer and a warm cozy venue in the winter. The pavilion hosts live music every weekend year round. Inside the restaurant, guests are treated to a rustic dining experience, including wrap-around porches that provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains and property. Towards the back of the old schoolhouse guests enter the new building which houses a lively sports bar as well as our brewing facility.

The entire estate is open for tasting our wines in a stroll or in a picnic, and our informed and enthusiastic hosts conduct tastings continuously in the Tuscan Tasting Room, every day of the week, and in Library 1821 on weekends. The Tasting Room is where the broadest range of our current vintages is introduced, while the Library 1821 presents a changing selection of flights of older vintages from our cellars, and with bite-sized culinary pairings designed by our chefs. Every encouragement is given, also, to enjoying our wines in the truly splendid lawns surrounding the historic Landmark Ruins of Thomas Jefferson’s mansion for Governor James Barbour, a pleasant stroll away.
